This Year's Model Updates:

Although completely redesigned last year, the Mazda MX-5 Miata still sees a number of big changes for 2007. A retractable hardtop model joins the line, trim levels are shuffled and renamed and power output numbers change slightly due to the implementation of new SAE power-rating standards.

Pros:
  • Huge fun factor, precise steering and handling, low base price, economical to operate.
Cons:
  • Still snug for large adults, stability control only available on top trim level.

  • My MX-5 GT - 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata

My wife and I decided to get rid of our motorcycle and buy a small sportscar, convertible. We bought our Mazda MX-5 the day after selling the cycle. This has been the best buy we ever made. We both love driving it and we drove it to the Great Smoky Mountains a couple of weeks after buying it. Had a ball driving in the Smokies with the top down. Cant compare with the motorcycle. No hot, wet, uncomfortable days with this toy. Should have bought one years ago.

  • Awesome Roadster - 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata
    By -

This is my first roadster and let me say it is awesome. This car is just a blast to drive. I never considered the Solstice because its a GM product and I couldnt get over its "look at me" flashy design. The engine in the MX-5 is a gem, as is the transmission. I couldnt imagine buying this car with an auto. The handling is amazing, as is the top operation. This certainly isnt the fastest car Ive owned, but with this car you dont need to be breaking the speed limit to have fun. It really is like driving an oversize go-cart, which is why I bought it. On top of that its pretty practical for a Roadster, with a usable trunk and plenty of interior storage.

  • Driving me wild! - 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Just bought my Silver MX5 this past weekend. Have put about 300 miles on her so far. 3 words, LOVE LOVE & LOVE. Great handling, awesome appearance, and I am pretty amazed that my insurance is so inexpensive. It is a drivers dream. If a person enjoys being behind the whee this is the car for you. I have owned high-end European imports and for the money, this is a much bigger bang for the buck. The new styling that was introduced last year is a nice improvement. Truly this is the 2 seater that sets the standard. Great job, Mazda...very nicely done!

  • Grand touring power top - 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Fun car to drive. Great looking. Everyone who drives it is amazed. Plenty of power. Hard top is well worth it. Everything is excellent except on a trip over 2 hours, the seats are uncomfortable and you need to get out and stretch. Well worth it.

  • Can you say Zoom Zoom? I can - 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata
    By -

Can you say Zoom Zoom? And I did not have to break the bank to get into one. I forgot how to drive being stuck inside a minivan for for years. Gave up my Trans Am for family. Well now I have a toy to play with. It just flat out goes. I was never one for the "chick" car and the pictures on the net do not do it any justice. Go to a dealership and look at one yourself. ZOOM ZOOM. Need to purchase a fuzz buster for it.

  • One of the only true sports cars - 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata
    By -

Dont buy this car unless you really want a true sports car. If thats what you want this car is sure to make you happy. I just cant understand why GM is the only other car maker that has something to compete with the Miata. And their two products are distant seconds. Get this car if you really want to have fun driving and you dont just want to burn rubber in an over-priced, over-powered machine.

  • Very Pleased - 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata
    By -

I really like the car. It truly is the most fun car to drive. I have had mine almost 6 months and I love it. The power hardtop is a must and works like a charm. I have the upgraded suspension with limited slip differential and traction control. The handling of the car is extremely balanced. The car has been flawless mechanically and the fit and finish is better than cars even in the next class. Power is very good but not exceptional - but I would rather have the mileage anyway. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a fun, good looking roadster but doesnt want to spend a fortune to get it.

  • My second MX5 - 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata
    By -

Sadly sold my 1990 Generation 1 Miata a few weeks ago. Was not sure about jumping to a generation 3 car but made the leap a few days ago. This car is a blast to drive. The only problem is driving to work. Id rather go the other way and drive all day.

  • 2007 MX5 GT PRHT - 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata

I have had this car for 2 days now and I love it. Im only 58" so space is not a big problem even though getting in an out of a low car is interesting. I feel the car fits likes a glove. The best word to describe this car is FUN! I live in the SF Bay Area and plan to drive this everywhere including along PCH1, Napa, and Santa Cruz. Having the retractable hard top is convenient and allows me to have a quieter ride if I prefer. It also provides a sense of security vs. a soft top. Be aware that the recommended fuel octane on this car is Premium (91 octane).

  • I love my car but - 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata
    By -

After several years of owning it the hard top wont retract. I think its an electrical problem and I will be taking it in but wondered if anyone here had the same experience. I pop open the dealie between the shades, put it in neutral and push the button. It just beeps at me. Nothing happens.
